Description

An end-to-end workflow enabling a Gen AI chatbot to simplify and automate threat defense for security analysts.

Context

I led the design of Intelligent Assist, an AI-powered chatbot that allows users to interact naturally with their security environment.

Starting with a vague ask to “add a chatbot,” I initiated the product vision, shaped the UX direction, and collaborated closely with PMs and engineers to develop the design from concept to minimum viable product (MVP) and ultimately to general accessibility.

Impact

Released the MVP within 4 months, launching initial features for IDS/IPS threat investigation.

Expanded Intelligent Assist to support Network Detection & Response workflows, scaling its impact across the security platform.

My design established the UX design foundation for conversational AI at VMware Advanced Network Security, influencing future AI/UX initiatives and being showcased as a model for integrating AI-driven workflows across VMware’s security products.
